Cristiano Ronaldo beat both Luis Figo and Eusebio to be named as the best player Portugal has ever produced, in the Gala Quinas de Ouro ceremony, part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the Portuguese Football Federation.
The Real Madrid star could not make the event as his club had a date to keep with city rivals Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday night.

Meanwhile Jose Mourinho was also announced as the best coach of the century following his success with FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
