Drogba salutes former teammate Frank Lampard

Ivorian Didier Drogba has showered praises on former teammate at Chelsea, Frank Lampard for his professionalism after he came on to grab the equalizer for Manchseter City in Super Sunday English Premier League encounter.

Drogba shared and posted on his instagram: 

''This man... Showed again why he's my idol!!! True gentleman true leader true professional true scorer true blue!!! Good luck to you Legend!!!!!''

Despite savaging the situation for his new employers, he didn't celebrate the goal, which means a sign of respect to the fans and his former club.

Former Chelsea star Frank Lampard became the man of the moment after he was brought on by his new employers to hurt his former side as he scored to help Manchester City savage the situation on the day.

Chelsea had earlier gone ahead through substitute Andre Schurrle after Publo Zabaletta was handed a Red card coming off a second Yellow.

MOU's men were almost coasting to victory until Lampard was introduced in the 78th minutes, scored five minutes later and he became the hero for his new side.

However, Chelsea's 100% record of victory so far has been dented by this draw against City but still atop the log.

Lampard leaves Chelsea, joins New York City FC

England midfielder Frank Lampard has confirmed he will join MLS new entrants New York City FC on a two year contract.

The 36-year-old left Chelsea at the end of last season after seeing 13 seasons and a club record 211 goals.

Lampard becomes New York City FC's fourth player and second major summer signing following the arrival of David Villa from Athletico Madrid.

Since the next MLS campaign will kick off in February 2015, there are possibilities that Lampard may feature for another club in the mean time.
