What A Week: Pride and Title at stake

You will agree that the 1st Leg Semi Finals of the UEFA Champions League was indeed a cracker. Expectedly, for some fans it was disappointment and vice versa at the other end.

The “supposed tactical error” as widely believed from Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena and the “One Shot One Goal” at the Stamford Bridge which ensured that Chelsea got the better of Barcelona characterized the UCL encounters.

Beyond the UCL, in Spain it is the El-Clasico. Real Madrid have seen their ten-point lead atop the table dwindled over recent weeks, and Barca would move to within a point off the leaders should they secure a victory in this Classic. Bearing in mind that both teams also have their hands full in next week’s UCL return leg.

While in England, it is the London derby. It could be recalled that the first leg ended in favour of Arsenal 5-3 against Chelsea, but at this point, it is a different ball game owing to the fact that Arsenal have the 3rd spot to play for undistracted while Chelsea have  some distractions in the FA cup and the return leg to Barcelona at Camp Nouon Tuesday . Chelsea are just two points behind the 4th placed Tottenham and will look to close the gap.

What a week you’ll say. Pride and title at stake.
