FIFA Ranking: Nigeria drops four place, Germany remains number one in the world

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped four places and are now ranked 45th in latest FIFA rankings.
It is the worst slide for the former African champions, after they failed to win their last two international friendlies in March.

The Eagles were beaten 1-0 on home soil by Uganda and drew 1-1 with South Africa in Nelspruit four days later.

Meanwhile, Algeria remains the highest-ranked side on the continent despite falling three places to 21st. Cote d’Ivoire (23rd), Ghana (26th), Tunisia (30th) and Senegal (36th) complete the top five.

World Champions Germany remains the number one team in the world. Argentina, Belgium, Colombia and Brazil make up the top five nations.

The next ranking will be released on May 7, 2015.

Nigeria retains 42nd position in FIFA ranking

Despite not qualifying for Afcon 2015, Nigeria did not surge nor slum in the latest FIFA ranking released by world football governing body FIFA for the month of November as Nigeria remains on the 42nd position attained.

The Eagles defeated Congo 2-0 away and played out a 2-2 draw in Uyo against South Africa but was not enough to see the team through to Equatorial Guinea 2015.

My Take: You envisaged a slum didn't you?

Nigeria drops again in latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria has dropped again in the latest FIFA ranking released which sees the Super Eagles rank 42nd in the world.

It could be recalled that the Eagles ranked 37th last month and 33rd in August.

Reasons for this downsliding is not far fetched as the African Champions have not been convincing in their performance. Recently the Eagles lost 0-1 to Sudan in Khartoum but gave a better show in the return leg.

In the ranking, Germany however remain on top while Argentina and Colombia are next.
