Obviously the FIFA Confederations cup was not a good outing for Nigeria afterall, with the FIFA/Coca Cola World Rankings proving this point.
Nigeria dropped four spots to end up 35th place in the latest global rankings for July released by FIFA on Thursday.
The Eagles were ranked 31 in June.
The tournament however payed off for host Brazil as they moved to 9th position from 13th spot. They won all five matches in the competition with an emphatic victory in the final beating the world champions Spain who remain on top of the the rankings despite the loss.
Germany are second, Colombia also climbed to third owing to their super performance in the world cup qualifiers. Meanwhile Belgium moved to 10th while England moved out of the top 10.
