Iker Casillas: 15 years on as Real Madrid number one shot stopper

Its been over 15 years since Iker Casillas made his debut as the Real Madrid first team goal keeper, reports according to club website on his monumental achievement and successful career with the whites:


The goalkeeper made his bow on 12 September 1999 in San Mamés against Athletic in a 2-2 draw. #

Toshack was the Whites' manager at the time. In his first season he was the starting goalkeeper in the eighth European Cup win, and since then his numbers have not stopped growing, seeing him become a club legend.

In his trophy cabinet are three Champions Leagues, two Intercontinentals, two European Supercups, five leagues, two Copa del Rey titles and four Spanish Supercups. Also, having played 683 matches, he sits behind only Raúl (741) and Sanchís (710) in the appearance records.

At the national team level, he is Spain's most-capped player and has lifted a World Cup and two European Championships.
