Chelsea beat Benfica 2-1 to clinch UEFA Europa League final

Ivanovic's header
Chelsea have won the UEFA Europa League defeating Benfica  2-1 at the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday night.

Fernando Torres put Chelsea ahead in the 59th minute but for Azpillicueta to be caught for handling the ball in the penalty box which was well converted by Oscar Cardozo. The eventual match winner popped up two minutes into extra time and it was a super header by Ivanovic.

Benfica tried to rally back but it was too late.

Chelsea are the first English team in 12 years to win the Europa Cup, formally the UEFA Cup, since Liverpool beat Alaves in 2001.

This is clearly the best night for the Blues this season.
