Sharapova came into this tournament as defending champion and will be looking forward to a back-to-back win hoping to defeat Serena whom she has only beating twice out of 15 encounters.
Serena Williams on the other hand enters the final at Roland Garros unbeaten in 30 matches, will also be looking forward to picking her second French Open title.
To get to the final, Williams powered Sara Errani 6-0 6-1 while Sharapova beat Victoeria Azarenka 6-1 2-6 6-4.
