Reports from Turkey indicate that Fenerbahce team bus was attacked by gunmen following a win at Çaykur Rizespor on Saturday.
According to Turkish media outlets Hurriyet and Today's Zaman, the driver was reportedly seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
The Istanbul based team defeated the home team Rizespor 5-1 in the Super Lig and were heading to Trabzon in north-eastern Turkey for their flight back to their base when the bus was attacked along the Sürmene-Arakli Highway. Police said the bus windows were broken by gunfire, and the broken glass seriously injured the driver.
Fenerbahce security guards had to take over control of the bus, and once it was pulled over, team doctors tended to the driver, who was eventually transported to a hospital.
No injuries were reported besides the driver, whose condition was not immediately known.
