Manager of Manchester United has confirmed that Nemanja Vidic is still captain of the side regardless of his present contract status with the club although he is not quite happy with the announcement by Inter Milan on Thursday that the player will be joining them in the summer.
Moyes made this comments in his open letter to the fans of Manchester
United (season ticket holders), appreciating them for sticking with the
club and also apologizing for the unexpected poor run of form admitting
he is ''desperate to compensate''.
Moyes said: 'I don't think we like it in this country. I don't think it's something that's done here.
'I
can think of [Robert] Lewandowski going to Bayern Munich. I can think
of [Mario] Gotze, who went last year between two of the biggest clubs in
Germany. It's not something we like in this country, it's done more
often elsewhere.
'But it's
happened and we'll get on with it. Vida has been a brilliant servant for
the club and we'll treat him with all the respect he deserves. I knew
about January time that this would probably be his choice.'
Meanwhile United are 12 points off the champions league spot but they have a chance to close-in this weekend as they take on West Bromich Albion.
