CHAN Eagles get a Million Naira Presidential Reward

I remember vividly when the tournament started in South Africa, the Eaglea lost their first game in the campaign to Zimbabwe. Everyone was disappointed, even the players felt disappointed in themselves, but later in the course of the championship, they improved, scored quite a number of goals and Nigerian once believed in their prowress even though they didn't lift the CHAN ultimate trophy.

Pleasing a nation like Nigeria is not an easy task simply because the people are too passionate about football. Returning with Bronze felt like winning the Gold as the Eaglea became positive talking points in the long run.

With a number of players swapping clubs; for greener pastures or "greener" pastures.

To mention, there were lessons to take from the tournament obviously.

In the light of this, the president deemed it it fit to reward the team for their performance. Each player got a Million Naira, Coach Stephen Keshi #1.5M in absential as he's currently on holidays in the USA, his Assistants received a Million each while the other backroom staff got #500,000 each. He however promised to meet with the leaders of the Supporters Club on the 19th of this month in Abuja.

As reported by Vanguard, president Jonathan praised the team for their heroics in South Africa.

Eagles, una do well.
