Liverpool vs Arsenal: The Big Deal

With about 14 matches to end the season in the English Premier League, Arsenal visits Liverpool at Anfield and it promises to be a cracker.

This is one of those fixtures one looks forward to especially at this time with the complexion of the table so to speak. Arsenal are currently sitting atop the table while Liverpool seek a win to boost their top four chances (Champions league spot) but it won't be that easy for any sed to clinch maximum points in the encounter.

In the reverse fixture in November 2013, Arsenal got the better of Liverpool and it should be stated that the Men at Anfield will not allow the Gunners stroll away with a comfortable point.

Based on current form, both teams are doing well as Arsenal's have picked 8 wins and 2 draws in the last 10 games. On the other hand Liverpool have only tasted defeat once this season and with an impressive win against Manchester United and fellow Everton.

It should also be noted that Liverpool and and Arsenal have met 195 times in history with the Anfield side recording 75 wins to Arsenal's 70 and 50 draws but in the last 13 meetings Arsenal have lost just one, won five and taking seven draws.

Fact: Liverpool have not beaten a Arsenal in the league at Anfield since 2007.

A loss for Liverpool in this fixture may cause the side to slum and never recover  with Tottenham and Everton chasing so hard. On the other hand for Arsenal, it may simply mean the nose-diving moment and a swap of roles between City and Chelsea if the secure a win this weekend. By this Arsenal may never return on top but as it is often said football is like biscuit, it can crack from any point.

Every game is important! Enjoy this critical weekend.
