UEFA Champions League: Barcelona and PSG take the Lead

It took a Lionel Messi second half penalty and a late goal by Daniel Alves to secure a 2-0 win against ten-man Manchester City in the round of 16 first leg fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

Demichelis was red carded after a challenge on Messi and that became the turning point of the game with Barcelona having the possession, although City had a couple of chances.

In another fixture, PSG's Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace in a 4-0 spanking of Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in Germany to take home an advantage. Other scorers for PSG include Blaise Matudi who got the first goal within three minutes of play and Yohan Cabaye in the 88' minute.

Knowing fully well that away win puts a team in a comfortable stand point, therefore, Manchester City will have a difficult but possible task in the second leg while Bayer Levekusen are faced with a situation demanding divine intervention.
