The Gunners won 4-1 on the night to keep up with the top four race while Wigan crashed to the earth to be relegated after eight seasons in the Premier League.
They defeated Man city in the FA Cup final on saturday to lift their first of it's kind but will also make the history books as the first team to win the FA cup and relegate thesame season.
Wigan will however play in Europe next season on the bedrock of their FA Cup success.
