Mancini smiles to the bank after sack by Manc City (£7.5m Pay-off)

Manchester City will pay Roberto Mancini an initial figure of £7.5 million for sacking him as coach of the club.

Mancini was sacked by the Premier League team on Monday after the club management said “the Club has failed to achieve any of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.”

The Italian coach had four years remaining on his contract but the pay-off will be limited to 12 months’ salary should he get another job immediately.

The former Inter Milan coach is set to receive an initial sum of £7.5 million, which will be topped up for every month that he is out of work. He helped Manchester City win their first Premier League title last season but failed to win a trophy this season.
